Circularity and re-use workshop in Sweden

Our circular south baltic partner in Sweden, Sustainable Business Hub invited the entire value chain in the construction sector in the region of Skåne to a workshop about circularity and re-use.

We invited builders, clients, municipalities, suppliers and waste managers to jointly discuss how procurement and set targets can raise the bar for recycling and reduced emissions. Our speakers offered concrete advice and perspectives to take with us moving forward in the construction sector’s circular journey.

🔸 Emma Bonnevier at Byggföretagen presented how smaller companies can orient themselves in upcoming EU legislation.
🔸Martin Visby Buchard from Roskilde University described the national decisions that drive re-use in Denmark.
🔸Emma Nilsson and Lisa Östling at Wihlborgs Fastigheter AB and Adam Wadsten at Lund Municipality shared their criteria for requirements and strategies for re-use.
🔸Tobias Henriks at FOJAB gave tips on how to procure flexibly in open dialogue.
🔸Anders Edvardsson at Skanska described experiences from using recycled steel frames when building a new office of the Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning.
🔸Emma Sevelius from Forsen AB suggested standardization methods for circularity.
🔸Ulla Janson from Lund University of Technology concluded with an emphasis on how non-innovative approaches in the construction sector cause lost profits and waste, resulting in an inadequate transition to 2030.
