Knowledge, tools and roadmaps developed through the Life Science Academy for Startups

The resources available on this page were developed through the Life Science Academy for Startups (LSA), an international programme supporting early-stage life science companies across the Öresund-Kattegat-Skagerrak region.

Throughout the programme, industry experts, innovation organisations and ecosystem partners worked together to address some of the most common challenges faced by life science founders. From validating market needs and protecting intellectual property to raising capital, navigating regulation, and preparing for commercialization, the programme generated a broad collection of practical resources designed to support startup development.

Originally created to support participating companies in the LSA programme, these materials are now being made openly available to the wider life science community.

Whether you are building a biotech, medtech, healthtech, software or hardware company, these resources can help you make more informed decisions, avoid common pitfalls and accelerate your journey from idea to market.

Start with the LSA 360° Startup Readiness Assessment

If you are unsure where to focus next, we recommend starting with the LSA 360° Startup Readiness AssessmentDownload .

The assessment provides a structured overview of your company's current maturity across critical startup dimensions, including technology, customers, team, intellectual property, funding, regulation, sustainability and business development.

Rather than focusing on a single aspect of company building, the assessment helps founders identify strengths, uncover gaps and prioritize the activities that will create the greatest impact in the next phase of development.

The LSA 360° Assessment can be used as a strategic discussion tool within the founding team, as preparation for investor dialogue, or as a framework for planning future milestones and growth activities.

Share and Use Freely

We believe that stronger startups create stronger innovation ecosystems.

These resources are therefore shared openly and can be used by founders, startup teams, incubators, accelerators, universities, innovation support organisations and ecosystem partners working to advance life science innovation.

We hope they will help more innovations move successfully from research and ideas to real-world impact.
